My Photograph

I took this picture because from where I was standing it looked interesting by the light that's shining on the pipe.
It is a picture of one of the pipes in the USS ALABAMA engine room.
What would you name this picture?

  1. I would name this "Black hole",because it's a pipe that travels throughout the whole engine room that's kind of like a black hole in space. The light shining reminds me of a star in the sky.

  2. I like the way the pipe draws me to the light. There are many shapes created by straight lines which lead my eye all over the image. The fact that the tones are monochromatic lend to the feeling that this image may be a silver gelatin print!. I also like this image in a vertical orientation.

  3. Very interesting! It looks like the pipe is being blessed by an angel or a fairy. Maybe you could call it The Blessing or Magic Light.

  4. I think the lines of radiating from the light make it look like a star. I might call it "Starship." I agree with John that it has a magical feel to it.

  5. Hi! I like this image. There's a lot happening in the photo but the light provides a focus for your eyes. I notice that there is a bit of light sneaking in from the top left corner. Nice. Suggested title: Sneaking Light

  6. Interesting composition, is there a reason you are showing it sideways?

  7. I would call it "spotlight" or "gotcha" as it feels like someone is shining a light on me.

  9. I really like the light in contrast to the dark. It looks artistic. How about a title in reference to these elements? Something like Light at the end of the tunnel?Keep up the great work!

  10. Hi :) I'm Pauline, a student from Dr. Strange's EDM 310 class, here at the University of South.

That's an awesome photograph you took :)
I would call it Timeless Steel or something like that. Because it looks as good as new, even tho it's an older ship, but it still has its presence and pride about it for when it was used to serve the country :) All heroes are timeless by their own right, after all.
Keep up the good work on your blog and your photograph career, you have a great eye :)

  11. Hi,
My name is Sherrie, I am in Dr. Strange's EDM310 class at the University of South Alabama. This picture is really cool. The light shining invites you to jump right into the pipe like a pipe slide that you get to from the stairs that are in the picture. Great post!

  12. Hey Alba, I'm a student in Dr. Strange's EDM 310 class. I like your idea about the "black hole". Why is the pipe open and what is its purpose? It's a big pipe that's for sure? Anything you dropped in there would be gone for sure!

  13. Nice pictures. I am Cassandra a student in Dr. Strange EDM310 class. I am attending the University of South Alabama in Mobile, Alabama. I think this is such cool assignment. I would call the picture "The Optical Eye". I would it that because when i first looked at it reminded me of a game that i play on PlayStation. The tool that you use on the game is called the optical. Great job!
